Yeah my start up tone played when i first got the phone but it stopped playing after a few days. I\'ve never had any problems with my ringtones though.

mates does that starting tone really matters to u ?
it has no importance for me.
all s60 fones have low ringing noise.
our 6600 is hell lot of better than other cells available here.

I think the half way tone because upon startup the phone you are activating Answering Machine/Smart Answer. I experienced the half way tone and after deactivated the software Answering Machine/Smart Answer, now have no problem anymore.

the person on top of this message is wrong, it has nuffin 2 do wiv programs cos i dnt hav dat program but stil get the incomplete tone at the beginning

yo! theres nothing wrong with n6600... maybe ur phone has a dfect... u said that ur start up tone doesnt work right? and your ring tone too.. so that means theres something wrong with your phone... i best way to solve your problem is to, go back to the phone store where u got your phone and let them check your phone... probbly,,,, they will change ur phone... its natural to have a fctory dfect phones... my abvise is... u should return your unit to the store and tell them that u want a functional one... thats it... have a nice day guys!!!

if u cant hear the n6600 ringing tone, try 3310

i agree, go back 2 the shop, get a working fone, if not, theres always a bin 4 ur 6600, then go out buy urself a brand spanking new 7610, or buy a 5110 if their still available, at least u'll hear ur ringtones
