well I should be able to help you out with that. all modern phones that use sim cards can be unlocked. you see, in an effort to keep prices down on their phones, carriers (T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, etc.) "lock" their phones, which basically makes them unable to be used on any other network than the one that locked the phone in the first place. when you "unlock" the phone, you allow it to be used on different carriers of the same networks (GSM, CDMA, iDEN, etc.)
