Hello,
I am the owner of a new sx1 after a upgrade from a c60, I think its a cool phone but I have some problems with it.
The ringtones arnt very loud nor is the mp3 playback with the volume on full. Dose anyone know if the new firmware (the Australian version) fixes this problem as my friends ngage and 6230 are far louder.
Are there covers avalible? I find the battery life not real good...I get about 1.5-2 days general use before a charge is required.
Dose anyone know where I can get mp3 player 3.11???
Any tips, tricks and cool programs would be greatly apreciated if you let me know.

A few posts down is a list of programs working on the sx1. Get the latest firmware from Siemens indeed, it may fix the low volume thing, but it goes up and down from firmware version to version. It was turned down because one main sx1 service problem was a blown speaker. The latest FW15 gives it back a good volume and fixes the occasional hanging of the built in mp3 player for good, but not available for all Country/region versions. After a fw upgrade always format the phone and memory.
My fav. programs for this kickass phone are ChessGenius, Ogg-player (a file format similar to mp3 but better at a smaller bitrate, install the free Ogg player together with the )gg-recognizer, version 1.0, download from http://symbianoggplay.sourceforge.net/
FExplorer, a free system explorer tool, plenty of posts in the appl. section and member files, Smartmovie player (with the converter for the pc to convert dvd's/avi/divx movies to a size fit for phone) Sun compass, QuickOffice, Profimail, CameraFX for making better pictures with stronger zoom.
Battery life, yeah, consider you have a small pda, with a power consuming screen, with a phone function, it is normal. Clone batteries with a larger capacity are available, as covers.

Also what is good software to convert mp3 to ogg, with my phone then allow me to play ogg files as ring tones.

I got everything here, use the forum search function too, down on the right sight of thw forum mainpage.
